BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from participants. BarCampSaskatoon08 is open to all who love technology as a place to talk and to learn.
BarCampSaskatoon08 will take place on Thursday September 25th, 2008 at The Cellar. The Cellar is an ambient and very cool conference room in the basement of the Senator Hotel (243 21st Street East). There are two small conference rooms (one holds about 35 people and one about 25 people), a learning lounge, pool table room and “beverage station.” Internet access is available and has been upgraded from last year. Projectors will be donated. Bring your gadgets: laptop, mobile, camera, laser pointer, whatever.
BarCampSaskatoon08 is part of National Digital Media Day. BarCamps will take place for 24 hours across the whole country and around the world. We will be able to see sessions from other locations and broadcast ours via uStream.tv.
Winston's will serve us food and drinks, we will work toward getting dedicated service.
Help promote BarCampSaskatoon08 by blogging (use the tags: BarCamp, BarCampSaskatoon and BarCampSaskatoon08), emailing your friends and colleagues, talking it up, etc. We will have some BarCampSaskatoon08 buttons coming in a few days.

BarCamp is an ad-hoc unconference born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos and interaction from attendees. Anyone with something to contribute or with the desire to learn is welcome and invited to join.
When you come, be prepared to share with barcampers.
Attendees must give a demo, a session, or help with one, or otherwise volunteer / contribute in some way to support the event. All presentations are scheduled the day they happen. Prepare in advance, but come early to get a slot on the wall. The people present at the event will select the demos or presentations they want to see. Presenters are responsible for making sure that notes/slides/audio/video of their presentations are published on the web for the benefit of all and those who can’t be present.

We can head upstairs to Winston's and grab a beer and talk, at the end of a long day.
