We are planning a Barcamp in Israel (sometime in late November/early December) and are looking for suggestions for venues and volunteers to help with organising.
What is BarCamp Israel
BarCampIsrael is an ad-hoc un-conference born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos and interaction from attendees. All attendees must give a demo, a session, or help with one.
Anyone with something to contribute or with the desire to learn is welcome and invited to join.
When you come, be prepared to share with BarCampers. When you leave, be prepared to share it with the world.
Why
To learn, meet people who share different interests, contribute, and push yourself and your thinking.
When
sometime in late November early December
Where
It would seem best to find a venue in the Central (Merkaz/Sharon) area but any suggestions are welcome - perhaps there is a company in the TelAviv/Herzeliya area that would be interested in hosting the Barcamp?
Suggestions for venues:
- ZOA on Ibn Gvirol street in Tel Aviv (where the august penguin is held annually)
- Netanya Technical College (OSDC Israel 06 was held - http://osdc.org.il/2006/)
- Tel Aviv University, Hebrew University Jerusalem or the Technion in Haifa
What we need
1. a place whishing to host the BarCamp
2. Sponsors for Pizza and T-shirts
3. decide on a date
4. a cool magen-davidified barcamp logo
It will be good to do a preliminary meeting with people interested in organizing this to decide on date/venue/....
